Short Mat Bowls
Greengauge offer two different Short Bowls Mats -
- the Greengauge Club (which offers medium paced surface) and the
- Greengauge International (which offers a medium/fast paced surface)
- each is available in sizes 30ft (9.14 meters) by 6ft (1.83 meters) and 45ft (13.72 meters) by 6ft (1.83 meters) please see the retail price page for prices.
Both Greengauge Mats are manufactured using a needle punched rubber backed material. During the manufacturing process the surfaces are specially treated to give anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Each are manufactured from a mix of Polyester and Polypropylene.
The surface is then backcoated with a special resin and rubber mixture which penetrates the felt to a fixed and accurate depth. The purpose of the resin is to hold the needled fibres together and give stability to the bowling carpet, providing the ideal bowling surface. A waffle rubber backing is also used to help and provide a resilient non slip backing to the carpet.
All this ensures that the Bowling Surface stays in a better condition for longer, increasing its life time.
Greengauge Club
The Greengauge Club Short Mat has been designed to provide a medium speed bowling surface. The Club Short Mat is currently available in two colours -
- Dark Green and
- Royal Blue.
Greengauge International
The Greengauge International Short Mat has been designed to provide a medium/fast bowling surface. The International Short Mat is also available in two colours -
- Royal Blue and
- Light Green
Both of the Greengauge Bowling Surfaces have been tested by World Class International Short Mat Bowlers and were described as providing "the perfect playing oppurtunity for Short Mat Bowlers".
